Diving and Watersports

San José has two scuba diving centres, Alpha Buceo and ISub both are PADI approved and offer excursions, all levels of courses and beginners trial dive experiences.

With nearly 20 dive sites close by, including the well preserved wreck of El Vapor, sunk in 1928, divers can explore the 45km of protected coastline including 12,000 hectares of sea.

As experienced divers ourselves we can try and answer any questions you may have about diving in the area.

During the summer months sea-kayaking is available from the main San José beach, and offers a trip, including full tuition for absolute beginners, and a tour around the local coastline, including a stop off for some snorkelling along the way.

The clear waters offer some super snorkelling from all the local beaches where you can see an abundance of fish. This is also an ideal location for windsurfing and kite surfing.
