San José - Weather
In this part of Spain the weather is usually lovely, and as part of the Desert of Tabernas it historically has very low rain fall. As a general idea:
Summer time
San José benefits from hot summers with sunbathing weather almost every day from June to September and virtually no rain. Daily highs are about 30 – 35°C and nightly lows are about 15°C. The sea breeze generally keeps the ambient temperature to an easily manageable level.
Winter time
We enjoy a mixture of beautiful clear and sunny winter days with occasional overcast but generally warm days. The evenings are noticeably cooler with a sometimes chilly wind. The first rain usually occurs during late September/early October and can be heavy but rarely lasts more than a day or two. Daily highs are about 20°C and nightly lows rarely drop much below 10°C.
“The climate is almost unique in Europe, characterized by its aridity similar to that in North of Africa, being the annual rain fall less than 169 mm. As a result of this climate and the variety of environment, the area harbours an important representation of flora and fauna.”
